Muscle Memory
7 years is a pretty long time to have stayed away from something. My body feels different, this time around. It doesn't help that I have a flu for the first time in a long while. But I'm still weirdly zen. The familiarity kicks in the moment I set foot on the stage. Muscle memory. A kind of auto-pilot. I don't overthink, it keeps me from being a bundle of nerves. Honestly, thinking back, I can't really remember ever having stage fright. I am an anxious person. I tend to spiral a lot. But on stage I'm not the person. The voices in my head silence themselves as a sort of professional courtesy. Experience. A human experience. Real life. Not through a screen. The moment is finite but the memory is etched in your brain forever. It shapes and moulds you, makes you who you are. Anyway, gig in Bombay with Still In Therapy felt GREAT. But now, like an addict, I want more and more and more....I don't yet know what my point of satiation is. I've not experienced it yet. And I most definitely don't want to. I love everything about this, including the fever and body ache that now seems to follow, the next morning. I wouldn't have it any other way!
